Borne Again is a Textile Recycling company committed to recycling and re-use. We sell products made entirely from recycled and reclaimed fabrics and textiles that would otherwise have been destined for landfill sites around the country.
The brands overarching goals are to comply with fair trade principles, participate in sustainable development and design affordable high quality goods. Borne Again is a ready to wear brand with a casual contemporary feel creating apparel that is distinctly fashionable and unique.
Borne Again has been formed as part of the Next Best Clothing Ltd. Collecting and buying second hand clothing and textiles and recreating them into something new, this is called upcycing. Upcycling is the process of converting waste materials or products into new products of a better quality or a higher environmental value. We also use ‘shoddy’ which is the product that results from the recycling of knitted woollen garments.
We have a unique company in addition to helping the environment we are committed to making contributions from each sale to the registered charity The Funzi and Bodo Trust. The trust began three years ago and in that time has opened two medical clinics, runs water and road ambulances, funds operations and offers health education. The charity works in the villages of Funzi and Bodo in Kenya.
Borne Again’s mission is to continue to promote the benefits of recycling and the re-using of textile waste. We aim to not only build a reputation for affordable and quality goods but also for our work with charities.
Borne Again is part of the group of Textile Recycling companies namely: Bag2School, FunziBodo, Bag2TheFuture, The Rag “n” Phone Man and Next Best Clothing.
